Sustainable meeting room

In 2011 I successfully completed my graduation project at the Hibertad association in Hardenberg. For this project I designed the flexible office space with the focus on a sustainable ‘eye catching’ meeting room.

There is a notable shift in the Netherlands where traditional offices transform into ‘new’ offices, which are focused on meeting. Thanks to new technology and a change of behavior, work can be done anywhere and anytime.

Fire alarm for the elderly

How to evacuate the elderly?

In case of fire, a lot of older people don’t see or hear the fire alarm, panic or just don’t know how to react.

During this project, we’ve developed a fire evacuation system designed according to the needs of an elderly home.It took a lot of research including transforming ourselves into 70 years old people using biomedical suits.

The system consists of an interactive screen with instrucions on the wall of each room, special strips which indicate the direction you have to walk and a controll centre for the staff.

Multi media furniture for IKEA

“Design a piece of multi media furniture for IKEA. Your concept should be sold in 2012.”

Our group came up with the Swosj. Inspired by the sound gas springs make when lifting the tv. Designed to fulfill the needs of young families. Storage space and technology covered with a stylish design. Tidy up!

The regional IKEA manager was surprised by the result:

“The Swøsj, a piece of multimedia furniture resembling a desk, really got me. “Our products must be suitable for small spaces and children, offer plenty of storage space and can’t be too expensive. The Swösj meets all these characteristics, and looks, when completely closed, very neat. We could almost put it in the store right away. “

Design of an automated bicycle storage facility

Imagine, you have built a large building. A university faculty building for example. The only problem: there’s no space left to park the 1000 bicycles used by the students.

We have developed an automated bicycle storage system for over 1000 bicycles. Deliver your bike at one of the gates and retrieve your bike using your ID. Simple & Safe.
